Armed Men Rob Taxi In Ballymena
A taxi driver has been robbed at knifepoint in Ballymena, Co Antrim.
Two men were collected by the taxi in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday 01 October, in the Cullybackey area before carrying out the robbery.
Police said the incident, which left the driver badly shaken, was reported at around 12.30am.
One man has been arrested.
The pair were picked up in the Spence Crescent area and driven to Dunclug Park in Ballymena. It was when the driver tried to drop them off that one produced a knife and demanded money.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "This was an extremely distressing time for the taxi driver who has been left badly shaken. No one should feel unsafe in their work environment."
A 21-year-old man has been arrested and remains in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the Cullybackey or Ballymena areas is asked to contact police on 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A man has been arrested after a taxi driver was struck in the face with a gun and robbed in Antrim. The incident took place at around 00.30 this morning, 18 July, when a driver collected two males and a female in the Ballymena Road area and took them to Junction One.
