£600k Herbal Cannabis Seized In Belfast

A 45-year-old man was due in court today, Friday 11 October, after herbal cannabis worth £600,000 was seized in Belfast.

Police recovered 32 kilograms of the drug as part of a large operation in the Dargan Road area on Thursday morning, 10 October.

The suspect was charged to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on suspicion of possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply.

Detective Inspector Richard Thornton said: "We are committed to tackling the illegal supply and use of drugs. Like all illegal drugs, cannabis can have devastating, life-changing effects.

"We are appealing to anyone with information about illegal drugs or drug dealing in their area to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.

"Alternatively, information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
