Man Critical Following Cookstown Incident

A man aged in his twenties is in critical but stable condition after he was found injured in Cookstown, Co Tyrone.

Another male, aged in his thirties, was arrested after the younger man was discovered lying on a footpath on Chapel Street in the early hours of Sunday morning, 24 November.

Police rushed to the scene shortly after 2am and administered emergency first aid before ambulance crews transferred the casualty to hospital.

Detective Sergeant McGale said on Sunday: "The man, aged in his twenties, remains in hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable at this time.

"We have arrested a man, aged in his thirties, as part of our investigation and he remains in custody assisting us with our enquiries.

"Our officers remain on scene this morning carrying out their enquiries as we work to establish exactly how the victim was injured."

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the victim prior to when he was discovered.

Anyone who was on Chapel Street around the time of the incident or who was driving in the area is also urged to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference 247 of 24/11/19.

25-Year-Old Charged With Murder Of Bobbie McKee
A 25-year-old man has been charged in connection with the murder of Bobbie McKee in Kilkeel. Mr McKee (69) died shortly after being found seriously injured at his home in the Newcastle Road area on Thursday 21 March. The man has also been charged with the attempted murder of Mr McKee's wife, who remains in a serious condition in hospital.

Man Arrested In Connection With Dromara Assault
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a report of an assault at licenced premises at the Rathfriland Road area of Dromara. Detective Inspector Bell said: "Shortly before 10:10pm on Friday 15th December, it was reported that an altercation occurred at a bar in the area following three men refused entry to the premises.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
