Storm Brendan Brings High Winds To NI

Northern Ireland is bracing itself today as Storm Brendan brings strong gales to the region.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning from 10am until midnight, with winds expected to pick up early this afternoon.

Storm Brendan hit the west coast of Ireland this morning, Monday 13 January, with Met Éireann warning of several hours of dangerous weather.

Gusts of up to 75mph can be expected on exposed coasts and hills.

The Met Office also warned of likely travel disruption, with some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport as well as local bus and train services.

Coastal routes and seafront communities may experience spray, large waves and extra surface water, with short term power outages also possible.
