Belfast Schoolboy Seriously Injured In Collision

A Belfast teenager is understood to be in serious condition in hospital after he was struck by a car.

The incident, involving just one vehicle, happened on the Creighton Road in Dunmurry before 9am this morning, 07 February.

The schoolboy is receiving treatment at the Royal Victoria Hospital, where his condition is described as serious.

Lagmore Cllr Daniel Baker said his thoughts are with the casualty and his family.

Writing in a post on Twitter, the Lord Mayor of Belfast said: "I have just heard the news of a young school boy knocked down in my community. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family, I hope with all my heart that he is ok. I will light a candle for his recovery."

Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident, to contact them on 101.

The Creighton Road has reopened to traffic.

Man Seriously Ill Following 'Violent Incident' In Belfast
A man is seriously ill in hospital following a violent incident in Belfast city centre. Police were called to Great Victoria Street just before 5am this morning, 08 September, following reports a man had become violent. The man's injuries were sustained during the incident. The road remains closed between the Europa Hotel and the Grand Opera House.

Boy Critical Following Crash In Enniskillen
An 11-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital following a collision between a car and a van in Enniskillen. Two men were also seriously injured in the incident which happened on the Lough Shore Road on Wednesday afternoon. The driver of the car, 23, and the 47-year-old van driver are being treated in hospital.
