Rain & Wind Warnings Issued For NI
Wind and rain warnings have been issued for Friday and Saturday as the weather takes a turn for the worse.
The forecast for the next few days remains unsettled, although less severe than previous weeks, with the potential for strong gales and heavy rain across Northern Ireland.
Flooding, travel disruption and short term losses of power are predicted.
A yellow alert for rain is in place for most of Friday, beginning at 6am and continuing throughout the day until 9pm.
The weekend will then get off to a windy start with a further yellow warning, this time for wind, to take affect at 6am on Saturday and last until 10pm.
Steve Willington is a chief forecaster at the Met Office. He said: "Storm Dennis has long gone, but the legacy of high water levels and saturated catchments remain. Although the forecast for the next few days indicates that conditions won't be as severe, any additional rainfall could create further challenges as river catchments are more likely to respond to extra rainfall more quickly. Flooding, especially in areas already heavily affected, remains a possibility."

Lidl Invests Further £3m In Pay Increases
Lidl Northern Ireland has announced a pay increase for its workers across the region, investing £3 millon in staff. Lidl NI has to date invested £6 million in pay rises for employees in the region with employees benefitting from a 13.5 percent increase since February 2023.

Economy Minister Meets With Further Education Unions
Economy Minister, Conor Murphy, has held a meeting with representatives of the UCU and NASUWT unions representing workers in the further education sector to discuss the requirements of a new pay award. Following the meeting, Minister Murphy said: "I am very keen to ensure further education staff get a pay uplift as soon as possible.
