Security Alert In Cookstown Ends

A security alert in Cookstown has now ended.

The army bomb squad examined a suspicious object at Beechway on Sunday, 11 April, however "nothing untoward" was found.

PSNI Inspector Michael Patton added: "It is believed the object may be a remnant from the First World War.

"Residents have now returned to their homes, and I am keen to thank those who were inconvenienced for their patience and understanding."

Rates Suspension And Refunds For Victoria Square Apartment Owners
The owners of the disputed Victoria Square Apartments will no longer be charged rates, with refunds to be issued for rates paid since April 2019.
