Fun And Thrills Of NI's Outdoor Adventure Centres

School is out for the summer and while overseas adventures may be limited, there's no better time to make the most of the best Northern Ireland has to offer. Whether you fancy a weekend away or just a day trip with the family, the region's outdoor activity centres have a bit of everything for all ages. Watch as your children scale treetop play areas, fly through the air on a zip line or even hang on for dear life as they pilot their own hovercraft.
Grab your trainers and don't miss out on these unique ways to explore Northern Ireland's beautiful outdoors.

Let's Go Hydro, Carryduff
Only a 10 minute drive from Belfast City Centre amongst the greenery of Carryduff you'll find Ireland's largest aqua park.
Combining both the serene surroundings with its state-of-the-art water sports facilities, the resort has put itself on the map as one of the country's best summer spots.
Soar through the sky on a floating trampoline, bounce into the air off inflatables or make a splash on slides or free falls - you'll be spoiled for choice.
Children must be seven and able to swim unaided.
Prices are available here at just £20 per visit.

Clearsky Adventure Centre, Downpatrick
Boasting beautiful views on the shore of Strangford and grounds which have attracted the likes of major Hollywood productions sits Clearksy, an outdoor pursuits centre with over 20 exciting activities.
For those more comfortable on land, Clearsky offers archery, wall-climbing, abseiling and mountain biking. Water lovers can even clamber over rocks on the Ballyhornan coastline, take kayak lessons and construct a sea faring raft.
But if you and your family fancy something more relaxed you can always book a spot on the Sea Safari Voyage where seal and porpoise sightings are frequent.
Prices and more info are available on the Clearsky Adventure Centre website.

Carrowmena Activity Centre, Limavady
L'Derry is certainly not short of family outdoor adventures with Carrowmena's well renowned camping ground in particular offering a little bit of everything for all ages.
Visitors can partake in popular outdoor activities like abseiling, canoeing and archery.
Yet the resort sets itself apart with its stunning Maize Maze. Opening in July for the 2021 season, the sprawling maze of crops will have youngsters and adults searching to find their way out. Just don't forget to bring wellies.
Tickets for the Maize Maze are £4 per person or £18 per family.
A 1/2 Day Activity Experience ticket is also available at £30 for kids and £35 for adults.

Limitless Adventure Centre, Limavady
If Carrowmena's not your style, you'll only have to drive mere seconds up the road to find Limitless. Sitting side by side along the north coast, both centres offer enough to keep you and the family entertained for your whole stay.
While Carrowmena's Maize Maze is a must-do in the area - Limitless just also happens to be the only place you can have a hovercraft experience in the whole of Northern Ireland. Cling to dear life as the young ones take you on a glided tour of the coast, or take the reins yourself and reach speeds of up to 30mph. Prices for children aged 9-11 start at £27pp and those 12+ start at £36pp.
Experience big thrills on Powerturn Buggies, compete in an 18-hole football golf course, or even take to the battlefield in games of laser tag.

Todds Leap, Dungannon
This may be a spot for the older children, or the fearless younger ones.
Found amidst the Dungannon countryside, Todds Leap allows guests to fire arrows at its archery site, take the adrenaline fuelled leap from its tall DropZone and sail through the air on a giant swing.
The resort also specialises in daring off-road driving in trucks and jeeps - one hilarious activity even allows you and your friends to take the wheel blindfolded (under the supervision of a qualified instructor).
It would be a travesty to forget the Tayto 'BigYella' Slide as well - a 150m adventure that takes you to the end of the Tayto rainbow.

Corralea Activity Centre, Enniskillen
Perfect for a weekend away with friends or a trip with the family, Corralea is a beautiful haven that captures the spirit of Fermanagh.
The relaxing-kind can make use of the centre's Adventure Spa with a gorgeous panoramic view over Lough Macnean, or take a dip in the forest hot tub overlooking Thur Mountain.
More adventurous family members can even explore the caverns and tight passageways of nearby caves, or take to the local terrain in Northern Ireland's first guided electric bike experience.

The Jungle, Magherafelt
Northern Ireland's woodlands are nothing to be taken for granted, with tall, lush greenery dotting beautiful landscapes across the region. While many of these are known for their natural beauty, hidden amongst the Magherafelt trees you'll also find a daring outdoor adventure.
Aptly named The Jungle, this outdoor pursuits centre offers paintball, lasertag and zorbing all set against the backdrop of a deep countryside, engulfed in trees and streams, hills and hollows.
Tackle the heights of the forest or face your fears at the Jungle's flagship attraction, Tarzan's Tree Top Adventure. Set at varying height levels, this landmark high-wire ropes course will challenge you to cross rope bridges, scramble nets, tunnels, Tarzan swings, tree top zipline and even a spine-tingling Power Fan Drop which lets you experience the rush of a free fall Parachute jump – without the parachute. Prices start at £20 for kids and £25 for adults.
