Man Dies In Incident At Ballintoy Harbour

A man has died after getting into trouble while swimming at Ballintoy Harbour in County Antrim.

Emergency services were called to the Harbour on Monday evening, 26 July, with Coastguard teams from Coleraine and Ballycastle being joined by the Kilkeel lifeboat, a Coastguard helicopter from Scotland, the police and the ambulance service.

The man was recovered from the water but was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out, but the PSNI have said that they are not treating the death as suspicious.

Investigation After Man Dies At NI Harbour
An investigation is underway after a man died at Warrenpoint Harbour, County Down. Emergency services attended the scene at around 2.30pm on Thursday afternoon, 18 July. The casualty is believed to have been a worker at the harbour, and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed about the incident.

Man Dies In Portadown Road Crash
An 18-year-old man has died following a collision in Portadown. The crash happened on the Dungannon Road between midnight and 12.30am on Wednesday, 08 November. The road has been re-opened. Elsewhere, a man, aged in his 30's, has died in a road collision in Co Antrim.

Cannabis Worth £585,000 Seized In Belfast Harbour
A man has been arrested and a quantity of herbal cannabis seized in a joint Belfast Harbour Police and PSNI Organised Crime Team operation in Belfast in the early hours of Wednesday morning, August 9th. Officers from Belfast Harbour Police effected a heavy goods vehicle stop and search in the Harbour area around 6am.
