Man Found With 'Stab Wound To The Neck' In L'Derry

Police in L'Derry have issued an appeal for information after a man was found with a "stab wound to his neck".

It is understood at around 4am this morning police responded to a report of an injured man in the Meadowbank Avenue area.

The man remains in hospital. It is understood that his wounds are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police are trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and have appealed to anyone with information to contact them.

Appeal Issued Following Serious Road Crash In Ballywalter
Police are appealing for information following a serious road crash in Ballywalter. The collision happened on the Kircubbin Road just before 8.20am on Monday, 06 September. Officers are urging anyone with ashcan footage or informations to contact them.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Stomach Wound Killed Bar Brawl Victim
The trial of the man accused of killing Short Strand man, Robert McCartney has heard that a single stomach wound killed the victim. Belfast Crown Court heard yesterday from the Deputy State Pathologist, Dr Alistair Bentley, who conducted a post mortem on Mr McCartney in February 2005.
