'Viable' Pipe Bomb Thrown At A House In Banbridge

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses and information following an incident in which a pipe bomb was thrown at a house in Granville Gardens in Banbridge shortly after 11pm last night, Monday 09 August.

Police and ATO attended the scene and following examination, the device, which did not ignite, was declared viable. It will now be subject to further forensic examination.

No homes were evacuated, or roads closed as the area was made safe.

Detective Sergeant Stewart said: "An investigation is underway to establish who is responsible for this reckless act and a motive.

"We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at around 11pm and witnessed any suspicious activity, or has information about this incident to contact our detectives on 11, and quote reference 2224 of 09/08/21."

Man Injured After Shots Fired At House In Rathfriland
An investigation has been launched after shots were fired at a house in Rathfriland in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday, 05 March. Police received a report that two shots had been fired through the front window of a house in the Wright's Park area at around 12.35am, causing minor injuries to a man who was in the living room at the time.

Two Men Arrested In £500,000 Drug Seiure In South Belfast
Two men have been arrested in connection with a £500,000 drug seizure following searches in South Belfast. On Friday, 01 March, detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch stopped and searched two vehicles in the Lisburn Road area. Class B controlled drugs were recovered from both vehicles which were also subsequently seized.

Appeal Following Spate Of Burglaries Across Coleraine
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a recent spate of burglaries in Coleraine. On the morning of Sunday, 25 February, police received a report of a break-in at a house in the Magheraboy Road area of Portrush. It is believed that the burglary occurred sometime overnight on Saturday evening, 24th February.

PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following a report of a burglary at residential premises at the Alliance Avenue area of North Belfast on Monday 1st January. Detective Sergeant Kitchen said: "Sometime between 1:30am and midday, it was reported to police that entry was gained to a house in the area.
