Yellow Warning For Thunderstorms Issued

The Met Office have issued a Yellow Warning for thunderstorms for Saturday 21 August.

The weather warning comes into effect at midday and remains in place until 10pm.

The Met Office said: "Many places missing the worst, but heavy showers and thunderstorms may cause some transport disruption and perhaps flooding.

"What to expect:

• There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus

• Delays to train services are possible

• Some short term loss of power and other services is possible, with possible damage due to lightning strikes

• Flooding of a few homes and businesses could occur."

PSNI Appeal Following Fatal Collision In L'Derry
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a fatal road traffic in L'Derry on Thursday, 18 April. A woman, aged in her 70s, has died in hospital following a two-car collision on the Limavady Road at approximately 4pm. The collision involved a grey Citroen C3 and blue Alfa Romeo.

Additional Funding Needed To Improve Stroke Services In NI
Northern Ireland's stroke service will need additional funding to meet all priorities, Health Minister Robin Swann has said. Speaking at the first meeting of the All Party Group on Stroke today, Minister Swann said: "When publishing the Action Plan in June 2022, I was clear that we can – and must – do better for stroke patients and carers.
