First Dose Vaccines Still Available

First dose Covid-19 vaccinations are still available from mobile vaccination clinics, the Department of Health have reported.

Vaccination is also available by appointment for the Moderna vaccine at around 50 participating community pharmacies with more pharmacies expected to be joining the programme. Further details on pharmacy bookings are available on the Health and Care NI website.

You can continue to get your second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at any of Northern Ireland's regional vaccination centres. Further information is available on NI Direct.

NI100 School Art Competition Launched
A school art competition as part of Northern Ireland's centenary celebrations, NI100, has been announced by Education Minister, Michelle McIlveen. The competition will include pre-schools, primary, post-primary and special and will run from 11 October until 15 November 2021.

Drugs Worth £1.34m Seized Between 17 Sept And 04 Oct
Drugs worth £1.34 million have been seized across NI between 17 September and 04 October, according to the latest figures from the PSNI's ongoing Operation DEALBREAKER. The figures also show police conducted 94 searches; seized 317 drugs exhibits, made 129 arrests and charged 55 people for drug related offences.

Driving Tests Increase By 13% In September
The Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA) received 6,661 driving test applications in September, 13% higher than in August (5,872) and some 37% higher than the five year September average (4,888). This is according to the latest 'DVA Monthly Tests Conducted Statistics – September 2021' report.

Assembly Agrees 10-Year Strategy For Arts And Creative Industries
All parties in the Assembly have agreed a new 10-year strategy for Northern Ireland's arts and creative industries. Alliance Communities spokesperson Kellie Armstrong welcomed the new strategy but said that work must be done to correct the structural imbalance of funding for the arts and creative industries across NI.
