Man Reported 'Carrying A Firearm' In The Holylands
A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident involving a "suspected firearm" in the Holylands area of south Belfast.
It had been reported to police that a man has been seen in the area of Fitzroy Avenue "carrying a firearm".
Police have said that the man has been detained "on suspicion of possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence".
The man has since been released on bail pending further investigation.
The PSNI have appealed for information from anyone who was in the area and observed the incident or may have video footage to contact police on 101. A report can also be made using the online reporting form. Alternatively, information can be provided to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

Warning Issued After Thousands Lost To Gift Card Scam
The PSNI have issued a warning after a L'Derry resident lost thousands of pounds in a gift card scam. According to police, the person was contacted online and told that they had won money. They were told they needed to send online gift cards to verify themselves. This continued for some time before the scam was spotted and stopped.

Three men were sentenced for offences linked to a drugs and money laundering operation in the Ballymena area yesterday, 31 January. At Antrim Crown Court, Troy Carley (27), Neil Lowry (30) and Marc Mitchell (32) were sentenced for a number of offences.

Appeal Over Ballymena Jewellery Robbery
Police have appealed for information following an armed robbery at a jewellery store in Ballymena, County Antrim. Three men, one armed with a suspected firearm, went into the shop on Victoria Street at about 17:00 on Monday evening. The men then threatened members of staff and forced them to lie on the ground.

A man, carrying a suspected firearm, has been arrested after attempting to stop cars in Killinchy, co Down. The incident happened on the Comber Road at around 6pm on Wednesday, 03 May. Officers conducted a search of the area and recovered a deactivated rifle and a number of other items.
