Two Men Arrested Over Lyra McKee Murder

Two more men have been arrested in connection with the death of Lyra McKee.

The journalist was shot dead while observing dissident republican rioting in April 2019 in the Creggan Estate in L'Derry.

Police investigating Ms McKee's killing arrested two men, aged 44 and 53, in L'Derry early this morning. They have been detained under the Terrorism Act and are being held at the serious crime suite at Musgrave Police Station in Belfast.

A number of men have been arrested in recent weeks in connection with the killing of Ms McKee. Three men have already been charged with her murder. Police have said that their investigation is ongoing.

Michael O'Loughlin was arrested in 2020 following the search of a property as part of Operation Venetic, a UK wide operation by the National Crime Agency (NCA) designed to "dismantle EncroChat".

Three In Hospital After Police Vehicle Collides With Another Vehicle
Two police officers and a civilian remain in hospital following a collision in Newry on Saturday, 13 April. It is understood that the police officers were travelling in a police vehicle to attend a separate incident at about 7.30pm when they collided with another vehicle on the Fathom Road.

Two Men Arrested Over Lyra McKee Murder
Two more men has been arrested in connection with the murder of journalist Lyra McKee. Ms McKee was murdered during rioting in the Creggan Estate in L'Derry in April 2019. Two men, aged 24 and 29, were arrested early this morning, Wednesday 22 September, and have been detained under the Terrorism Act at Musgrave Police Station in Belfast.
