Bomb alerts cause traffic chaos

A series of bomb alerts have caused serious traffic chaos throughout Belfast this morning.

In north Belfast, a hoax bomb alert meant the area around Clifton Street Orange Hall was closed shortly after 7am.

A short time later, a second hoax bomb alert caused severe road chaos at the Sandyknowes roundabout in Glengormley.

In east Belfast, a suspect device was made safe outside a house in Shaw Street.

Army technical officers were called in to deal with the alerts and a number of items have been removed for further examination.
