PSNI Appeal For Information On Newtownabbey Hit-And-Run

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information on a hit-and-run incident in Newtownabbey.

At about 5.30pm on Tuesday 11 January, a young cyclist was struck by a vehicle as travelled across a zebra crossing at Cloughfern roundabout on O'Neill Road.

Police have said that they believed the vehicle involved in the incident was a silver/grey Jeep, which failed to stop. The vehicle failed to stop at the scene.

Anyone with any information, in particular anyone with dash cam footage from the area around the time the incident, is asked to contact police.

Police have said that an unknown male dragged the driver of a white Vauxhall Astra from his vehicle on the Ardmore Park area of the city just after 12.30am, before getting into the driver's seat.

Police in Londonderry are appealing for information after an ambulance was attacked as it transported an emergency cardiac patient to hospital at the weekend. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning when a youth threw a childs’ scooter in front of the vehicle.

Detectives in Downpatrick have appealed for information following the robbery of a cash in transit van in the Bath Street area of Ardglass at the weekend. At around 1.30pm on Saturday one of the delivery men had gotten out of the vehicle when he was approached by a man brandishing what's thought to have been a knife.

Police appeal for information on airport bomb
Police have appealed for anyone with information about last week’s attempted bombing of Belfast International Airport. Dissident republican group the Real IRA are thought to be behind the bombing attempt which left hundreds of passengers stranded for hours while the 20 kg bomb left in a car was dealt with by bomb disposal experts.
