Four questioned over body find in York Street

Four men were being questioned by police this morning after a man's body was found on a street close to Belfast city centre.

The victim, 28-year-old Thomas Venus from Ballysillan, was found dead close to the Midland Building on York Street at around 4.30am on Saturday.

While it is not known how Mr Venus died police believe there was no sectarian motive or paramilitary involvement in the killing.

Detectives have appealed for anyone who was travelling along York Street between 4am and 5am to contact them.

Elsewhere, two men have been arrested in connection with an attack on a man outside his home in Co Tyrone on Sunday.

The man was found with serious head injuries outside his home at Rockview Park in Cookstown at around 2am.

The victim is said to be in a critical condition in hospital.
