Traffic Disruption Expected in North Belfast Due to Friday Parade

Road users are being warned of potential traffic disruption across north Belfast tomorrow evening, Friday 19th June, due to a scheduled parade in the area.

The main procession is due to commence at approximately 7.30pm from the Crumlin Road. The route will take participants along Carlisle Circus, Clifton Street, Donegall Street, Royal Avenue, and North Street. It will then proceed via Peters Hill, Shankill Road, Woodvale Road, Woodvale Parade, Twaddell Avenue, and Ballygomartin Road. The final legs of the route will cover Enfield Street, Cambrai Street, Crumlin Road, Albertville Drive, Rosewood Street, Century Street, Oldpark Road, Manor Street, Alloa Street, and Cliftonpark Avenue, before dispersing back on the Crumlin Road at around 9.30pm.

In addition to the main event, two feeder parades will impact local traffic earlier in the evening. The first feeder procession will depart from Alexandra Park Avenue at 6.30pm, travelling along North Queen Street, Brougham Street, York Street, Donegall Street, Clifton Street, Carlisle Circus, Crumlin Road, and Hopewell Avenue. At roughly 8.15pm, this group will separate from the main parade at the junction of Shankill Road and Agnes Street, returning via the Crumlin Road, Carlisle Circus, Clifton Street, Donegall Street, York Street, and York Road prior to dispersal.

The second feeder parade will also start from Alexandra Park Avenue at 6.30pm. Its initial route will move through North Queen Street, Brougham Street, York Street, Donegall Street, Clifton Street, and Carlisle Circus, before concluding at Denmark Street. This group will subsequently break away from the main procession at around 8.15pm at the Shankill Road and Agnes Street junction, heading back along the Crumlin Road, Carlisle Circus, Clifton Street, Donegall Street, York Street, and York Road to disperse at Alexandra Park Avenue.

Drivers are strongly recommended to allocate extra time for their journeys through the area while these events are taking place.
