Parades To Cause Delays Across Mid And East Antrim And Causeway Coast And Glens

Road users and residents are advised to prepare for potential traffic disruption and delays across the Mid and East Antrim and Causeway Coast and Glens districts on Monday, 13 July, due to a number of planned parades.

Officers will be on duty to oversee traffic management and public safety. Drivers should allow additional time for their journeys and, where possible, use alternative routes.

Key traffic details are as follows:

Limavady

In Limavady, the parade is scheduled to start at 11.45am, with a break at 1.45pm when traffic will be able to pass through the town until 3pm. It is expected to conclude at 7pm. The outward route will take Church Street, Ballyclose Street, Main Street, Linenhall Street, Catherine Street, Irish Green Street, Roemill Gardens and Roemill Road, finishing at Limavady Orange Field. The return route will proceed via Roemill Road, William Street, Protestant Street, Catherine Street, Linenhall Street, Main Street, Ballyclose Street and Church Street. Additional return parades will also branch off from the main parade and end at various points around the town.

Ballymoney's parade will begin at 1pm, pausing at 2.30pm to allow traffic movement until 4.15pm. It is due to finish at 5.30pm. The route will follow Coleraine Road, Model Schools Road, North Street into the showgrounds, Charlotte Street, Main Street, Meetinghouse Street, Newal Road, Trinity Drive, John Street, Victoria Street, Linenhall Street, High Street, Model School Road and North Road. The return route will travel via North Road, Model School Road, High Street, Main Street, Meetinghouse Street, Rodden Foot and Ballymena Road.

Kilrea

Kilrea's parade will set off at 12pm, with a break at approximately 2pm when traffic can flow until 3.30pm, and will end at 5pm. The outward route will be Drumagarner Road, New Row, Maghera Street, Old Market Yard, Lisnagrot Road, Church Street, Bridge Street, Mill Road, Coleraine Street, Maghera Street and Garvagh Road. The return route will follow Garvagh Road, Maghera Street, Coleraine Street, Mill Road, Bridge Street, Church Street, Lisnagrot Road, Old Market Yard, Maghera Street, New Row and Drumagarner Road.

Rasharkin

In Rasharkin, the parade will commence at 12.30pm, stopping at 2.30pm to permit traffic flow until 5pm, with the event finishing at around 6.30pm. The outward route will proceed via Finvoy Road, Main Street and Church Road, returning along Church Road, Main Street, Moneyleck Road and Bridge Street before dispersing on Finvoy Road.

Portglenone

Portglenone's parade will start at 12.30pm, breaking at 1.30pm to allow traffic until 4pm, and is expected to finish at approximately 5.15pm. The outward route will take Hiltonstown Road, Cullybackey Road, Main Street, Portglenone Bridge, the Ballymacombs Road junction and then back over the bridge onto Gortgole Road into the Marina. The return route will follow Gortgole Road and Main Street, splitting at Townhill Road and the Cullybackey Road roundabout.
