Appeal For Information Over East Belfast Altercation

The PSNI have issued an appeal for witnesses after a man sustained a number of stab wounds during an altercation in east Belfast in the early hours of Wednesday, April 27.

Detective Sergeant Kitchen said: "A report was received around 2.15am of two males fighting in the Grovefield Street area. It was reported that one of them was armed with a knife.

"Officers attended and two men were located a short distance away.

"The injured party, who is aged in his twenties, was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening at this stage.

"A man, aged 26, was arrested in relation to the incident and remains in custody, assisting with enquiries.

"We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have dashcam or other footage, to contact police on 101 quoting reference 96 of 27/04/22."

Man Dies Following Crash In Magherafelt
A man in his 40s has died following a road traffic crash in Magherafelt on Tuesday. A tractor and a motorbike were involved in the collision which happened on the Aughrim Road just after 8.30pm. The man, who was driving the motorbike, was taken to hospital but died from his injuries.

Man Shot In The Legs In West Belfast
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a shooting incident in west Belfast. A man is being treated in hospital after being shot in the legs in an incident at Forfar Lane in the Springfield Road area, which occurred at around 21:15 on Monday 13 June.
