Teenager Arrested For Assaulting Ambulance Staff
A teenager has been arrested in connection with the assault of two Northern Ireland Ambulance Service staff members.
At approximately 8.30pm on Wednesday 31st August, police attended the Rossnagalliagh area of L'Derry following a request for assistance from Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
On arrival, an aggressive male was located. Ambulance colleagues reported that they had repeatedly been assaulted while attempting to assess the male's condition.
A 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of two counts of assaulting an ambulance worker, and resisting police. Whilst in custody the male attempted to assault a police officer and was further arrested for assault on police.
Inspector Moyne said: "The male remains in custody at this time, assisting with police enquiries.
"The emergency services work hard every day to serve our communities. Incidents such as this are unacceptable and should be condemned by all.
"Our investigation is continuing and we are keen that anyone who may have witnessed this matter contact us by calling 101, and quoting reference number 1865 of 31/08/22."

While a male juvenile remains in custody in relation to six separate criminal incidents in a six-hour period, a teenage girl is today also due in court over the same allegations. The 18-year-old is to face three charges of armed robbery. She also faces two counts of robbery, aggravated burglary and assaulting police.

Northern Ireland Ambulance Service is recruiting for new helicopter paramedics to be based at the Air Ambulance base at Maze Long Kesh in Lisburn and Emergency Ambulance Control at NIAS HQ in Belfast. Successful candidates will join the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) team which is made up of 15 doctors and seven paramedics.

Man And Child In Hospital After Being Knocked Down In Belfast
A man and a child have been taken to hospital after being injured in a road traffic accident in Belfast on Sunday, 21 October. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) said the incident took place in the Kingsway area around 3.30pm. "Two pedestrians were knocked down by a car, one an adult male and the other a child," a NIAS spokesperson said.

Ambulance Crew Involved In M1 Crash
An ambulance crew has been involved in a crash in Belfast as they were attempting to resuscitate a young baby on the M1 motorway. The crew had been flagged down on Kennedy Way to help an infant who had stopped breathing, when a lorry collided with the ambulance at 11am today. The lorry was approaching the Broadway roundabout.

Police launch murder inquiry in Larne
Police have launched a murder inquiry after the body of a 37-year-old woman was found in Larne. Officers were called to a house at Recreation Road at around 10.30am on Friday where they discovered the body, which is understood to have had chest wounds.
