'Fireball' Seen Shooting Across NI's Sky

The UK Meteor Network is investigating reports of a "fireball" seen crossing the sky over Northern Ireland and Scotland at around 9pm on Wednesday night.

Some 200 individual reports of sighting the "fireball" were made but it is not known if the object is a meteor or space debris.

UK Meteor Network has said that they are investigating reports of videos and photos of the sighting to establish what it was.

'Fireball' Seen Above NI A Meteorite
A 'fireball' seen shooting across the sky in Northern Ireland and Scotland has been declared a meteorite. Some 200 reports of a 'fireball' in the sky were made earlier this week after the object was seen travelling across the night sky in both NI and Scotland.

Murder inquiry launched after Markets body find
A murder inquiry has been launched after the body of a man was discovered in a flat in the Markets area of Belfast. Neighbours found the body in an upstairs flat in Friendly Place at 7.45am on Monday. Police believe the 38-year-old man had been beaten. Two men have been arrested by detectives and are helping them with their inquiries.

Appeal For Information After Man Seen With A Firearm
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following reports of a man seen brandishing a suspected firearm in the Falls Road area on the morning of Saturday 18th May. At approximately 8.15am, it was reported that a man had been seen with what was believed to have been a handgun in the vicinity of the Cullingtree Road.
