Jobs boost for Bangor call centre
MM Group, the owners of the Bangor-based calls and communications centre, have been announced the creation of 50 new jobs.
The full-time positions have been created as a result of a contract just secured by MM Group with EDF Energy, one of the largest energy companies in the UK.
Announcing the news, Audrey Stower of MM Group’s Head of Communications Centre at Bangor, said: “EDF Energy is one of the largest energy companies in the United Kingdom, distributing electricity to over a quarter of the country’s population.
"We are delighted to be working on their behalf and even more pleased to announce that this new contract has secured 50 new jobs for Bangor."
Welcoming the announcement, Strangford MP, Iris Robinson, said: “This jobs announcement is a tremendous boost to the local jobs sector which has, especially over the last number of months, been hit with major job losses."
Since launching its Bangor operation in 2000 MM Group has grown to be the largest private sector employer in the Bangor/Ards area employing over 600 staff in the Bangor operation alone.
