Second Man Arrested In L'Derry Animal Cruelty Investigation

A second man has been arrested by police investigating a report of animal cruelty in L'Derry after an injured dog was found partially buried.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday 21 March, on suspicion of Causing Unnecessary Suffering to Animals.

The arrest follows a report of a dog that was found injured and partially buried in Ballyarnett Country Park on Wednesday 15 March. The man remains in custody at this time.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Man Arrested Following Incident At House In Coleraine
A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident at a house in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. It happened at a property on Knockantern Grove in the Mountsandel area on Tuesday, 16 August. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of possessing of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an offence and assault on police.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

A second man has been arrested in connection to the murder of a leading loyalist in Co Down last week. He was detained yesterday afternoon following the release of the first man arrested in connection to the murder of 45-year-old Jim Johnston on Thursday night.

Man Arrested After Injured Dog Found Partially Buried
A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty following a report of a dog that was found injured and partially buried in Ballyarnett Country Park in L'Derry on Wednesday 15th March. Inspector Kyle Rowntree said: "On Thursday 16th March, officers also conducted a search under warrant at a property in the Carnhill area.
