PSNI Appeal For Information On West Belfast Shooting

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a shooting incident in West Belfast.

It was reported to the police at 11:05pm on Monday 26th June, that a man in his thirties was shot in the leg and found in the Divis Street area of West Belfast. Officers attended the scene as well as the Ambulance service. The man was treated at the scene before being transferred to hospital.

Detective Sergeant Alexander said: "This shooting is a clear violation of the victim's human rights. Everyone has the right to live their life free from the threat of violence.

"There is no justification for this type of attack. Those responsible place not just the victim at risk, but also the wider community.

"Our enquiries are ongoing, and we would appeal to anyone with information to contact us on 101 quoting reference 2271 of 26/06/23.

BCC Welcomes Conviction Of Belfast Man For Dog Attack
Belfast City Council (BCC) has welcomed the conviction of a man at Belfast Magistrates Court for an offence involving a dog attack on a woman. BCC brought the prosecution against 43-year-old Stuart Grace, of Forthriver Crescent, Belfast, following a report that Mr Grace’s German Shepherd dog had attacked a woman, injuring her arm and back.

Belfast Man Handed Two-Year Stalking Protection Order
The PSNI have welcomed a two-year Stalking Protection Order (SPO) handed down to a 46-year-old Belfast man at Belfast Magistrates Court. The man had been found guilty of stalking and harassing his 50-year-old female ex-partner.
