Appeal For Information After 'Viable Device' Found In West Belfast

A suspicious devices at the centre of a security operation in west Belfast on Tuesday, 08 August, has been declared as 'viable'.

The alert began at 12.45pm yesterday, when it was reported that a suspicious object was left in the Rossnareen Park area.

Following an examination by Ammunition Technical Officers (ATO), the object was declared to be a viable device. The object was taken from the scene and will be forensically examined.

An investigation is underway and anyone with any information which could assist with the investigation is asked to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 779 of 8/8/23.

Man Arrested In Connection With 1992 Police Officer Murder
A 59-year-old man has been arrested at Birmingham Airport in connection with a fatal mortar attack in Newry in 1992. The man was arrested on Wednesday, 21 February by detectives from PSNI's Legacy Investigation Branch, investigating the murder of Constable Colleen McMurray and the attempted murder of her colleague in 1992.

Appeal Following Petrol Bomb Attack In Banbridge
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a petrol bomb attack in Banbridge, in the early hours of Tuesday 19th March. It was reported that at around 2.10am on Tuesday morning, two petrol bombs were thrown at the back wall of a house in the Castlewellan Road area, causing scorch damage to the wall and a window frame.

Appeal Following Serious Assault And Robbery In Antrim
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in Antrim during the early hours of Monday, 18 March. The 26-year-old was walking in an alleyway adjacent to Seacash Drive at around 3.50am when he was approached by two men.
