Appeal Issued After Suspected Hit-And-Run In L'Derry

Police in L'Derry have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a suspected hit-and-run road traffic collision in the city.

Just after 8.30am on Sunday 26th November, police received a report that a man, aged in his 60s, had been taken to hospital shortly before 5.15am with significant injuries.

It is believed the man was potentially hit by a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene in the Fergleen Park area.

Initial medical treatment was provided and the man was transported to hospital by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. His condition remains critical at this time.

Chief Inspector Moyne said: "We would ask anyone who was travelling in the Fergleen Park area between 4.30am and 5am on Sunday morning, to review any dash-cam footage they may have captured and call us on 101 with any information they have. The reference number is 505 26/11/23."

Man Arrested Over Paramilitary-Style Shooting In L'Derry
A man has been arrested in connection with a paramilitary-style shooting in Co L'Derry. A 33-year-old man was shot in the legs and abdomen in the Lisfannon Park area on Tuesday, 08 August. Police described the assault as "brutal and horrific". The 43-year-old suspect was detained in L'Derry on Tuesday, 15 August.

Man Arrested In Connection With Newtownards Hit-And-Run
A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run incident in Newtownards on Saturday, 16 September. A man, aged in his 40s, is being treated in hospital after he was deliberately struck by a car in the Old Shore Road area of the town, at around 11:45pm. His injuries are said to be serious but not life threatening.

Man Armed With Knife Robs North Belfast Takeaway
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information after a report of an attempted robbery at a fast food takeaway in north Belfast in the early hours of Tuesday, July 25th. It was reported that at around 1.45am a man, armed with a knife, entered a premises in the Clifton Street area and demanded money from a member of staff.

Appeal For Information On Assault In Ballygowan
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a report of an assault in the Square area of Ballygowan. Making the appeal, Detective Sergeant Westbury said: "It was reported that an 18-year-old man was assaulted outside a licenced premises at around 1am this morning, Sunday 8th January.

Appeal For Information On Armed Robbery In Newry
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following a report of an armed robbery at commercial premises at the Patrick Street area of Newry on Tuesday 3rd January. Detective Sergeant Johnston said: "At around 8am, it was reported that a man entered a shop in the area. He produced a knife and threatened a female member of staff.
