Man Extradited By PSNI To Slovakia

Officers from the PSNI's International Policing Unit extradited a 52-year-old man from Northern Ireland to Slovakia, yesterday, 29 January.

The man who was wanted in relation to a number of fraud offences, will now stand trial in Slovakia.

Detective Inspector Lennon from the International Policing Unit said: "This is another example of how the Police Service of Northern Ireland works closely with International Law Enforcement partners to track down wanted persons and bring offenders to justice.

"Our message is clear; Northern Ireland is not somewhere you can hide to avoid arrest or the consequences of your actions.

"We will continue to actively pursue those who are trying to delay or deny justice to victims of crime."

PSNI Adopts New Protocol For Helping People With Sight Loss

Prisoner Dies At Maghaberry
A prisoner has died in custody at Maghaberry jail. The Northern Ireland Prison Service (NIPS) said the 57-year-old man passed away on Thursday morning, 28 September. His next of kin have been informed and an investigation has been launched.

Israeli radio says Belfast man's arrest was a 'mistake'
An Israeli radio station has reported that the arrest of a Northern Ireland man by security forces was a "mistake". The radio station, the Voice of Israel external service in Jerusalem, reported that the arrest of west Belfast man Seán O Muireagáin could be a "case of mistaken identity".

Man Extradited From Poland To Face Rape Charges In NI
A 45-year-old man is due to appear before Newry Magistrates Court today, 29 November, following his extradition from Poland. Officers from the PSNI's International Policing Unit travelled to Poland on Tuesday 28 November to accompany the man back to NI.
