Police Conduct Searches in L'Derry Related To Hoax Bomb Calls
Detectives from the PSNI's Terrorism Investigation Unit (TIU) conducted two planned searches in the city on Tuesday, 01 October, as part of an ongoing investigation into dissident republican activity.
Detective Inspector Walls stated that the searches are connected to a series of hoax bomb calls targeting railway stations in England between April 20th and 23rd, 2024. The investigation is being conducted in collaboration with Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE). "These searches demonstrate our commitment to disrupting the activities of this small group of people who are intent on causing fear in our society," Detective Inspector Walls said. "Our priority is to protect communities and keep people safe from harm."
He continued: "I want to appeal to anyone who has information which could assist our investigation to contact us on 101 or online at psni.police.uk/report, quoting reference 1587 of 23/04/24.
"If you would prefer to provide information without giving your details, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Renewed Appeal For Help Tracing Sofi Johansson
The PSNI have issued an appeal for help in tracing the whereabouts of high-risk missing person Sofi Johansson. Sofi, aged 56, is described as being around 5ft 7in and of slim build, with long grey hair that is normally dyed blonde, and has hazel eyes. She is a U.S national and speaks with an American accent.

Renewed Appeal On 22nd Anniversary Of Stephen Warnock Murder
Detectives from Legacy Investigation Branch, reviewing the murder of 35-year-old Stephen Warnock, in Newtownards in 2002, are appealing for information on the 22nd anniversary of his murder. Stephen died after being shot a number of times in his car while driving on the Circular Road in Newtownards at approximately 11.30 am on 13th September 2002.

Two People Charged Over Kevin Davidson Murder
Two people have been charged with the murder of Kevin Davidson whose body was found at a property on Donegall Avenue on Saturday 20 July. Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's Major Investigation Team have charged a 32-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman with the murder of Mr Davidson who was reported missing earlier this month.
