Two Arrested Following Belfast City Centre Burglary

Two people have been arrested following a burglary at a shopping centre in Belfast city centre.

Police received a report at approximately 4:45am on Thursday, 17 October, that two individuals used a barrel to break a window and enter a shop in the Royal Avenue area. A quantity of clothing was stolen.

Officers responded to the scene and quickly apprehended the suspects. A 34-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of burglary and are currently in police custody.

Inspector Jackson said: "This week is Safer Business Action Week and we hope these arrests highlight how serious the Police Service of Northern Ireland take crimes against retailers in Belfast."

Police would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area or anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with enquiries to contact police on 101 quoting reference 156 17/10/24.

Man Charged In Possession Of Heroin
A man is to appear in court charged in possession of heroin. Police arrested five people during searches of a property in Newry on Wednesday, 16 January. Two men have also been charged in possession of a Class A drug. A 50-year-old woman has also been charged with permitting premises to be used for the supply of a Class A drug.

Two Men Arrested On Suspicion Of Kidnapping
Police have arrested two men on suspicion of kidnapping. The males, aged 33 and 31, were detained in Co L'Derry. It is believed there arrests are in connection with an incident in the city on Thursday, 26 October. No further details have been released.

Investigation Launched After Heroin And Cash Seized In Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after discovering heroin and a sum of cash in Belfast city centre. Four wraps of the Class A drugs were found in bushes on Wednesday, 30 November. Police also seized a sum of cash. The PSNI are continuing with their enquiries.
