Asian family targeted in petrol-bomb attack

A couple and their five-year-old daughter have escaped injury after their south Belfast home was targeted by petrol bombers in the early hours of this morning.

The family, who are of Asian origin, were asleep in their Fane Street home when two petrol bombs were thrown at the front door and a front bedroom window at around 2.20am.

The attack, which left scorch damage to the small terraced house, is believed to have been the second time the family have been targeted in recent weeks.

Police say they are investigating a possible racial motive for the attack.

Anyone who may have information relating to the incident have been urged to come forward.
