Police Appeal Following Incident On Bus In L'Derry

The PSNI in L'Derry have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a bus was damaged on Saturday evening, 11th January.

It was reported at approximately 9.30pm, as the bus was travelling on Trench Road in the Waterside, a number of young people threw what looked like bricks at the vehicle.

Significant damage was caused to the vehicle's front and side windows. While no injuries were reported, this was a shocking ordeal for the driver and any passenger/s.

Police appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened or who has video, dash-cam or CCTV footage of the area during this time to call 101 and quote reference number 1522 11/01/25 or make a report online via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport. A report can also be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Belfast City Council To Host Free Seminar On Inclusive Tourism

Belfast City Council is hosting a free seminar for local tourism businesses and organisations to explore the importance of inclusivity and accessibility.

The 'Embrace the Inclusive Spirit' seminar, taking place on Tuesday, 18 February, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Titanic Belfast, is a collaborative effort with Tourism Northern Ireland and Visit Belfast.

With the estimated spending power of disabled households in the UK reaching £249 billion, the seminar aims to equip businesses with the knowledge and tools to better cater to this significant market segment.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

• Learn about the value and importance of the disabled tourism market.

• Discover inclusive marketing techniques designed to reach and engage disabled visitors.

• Gain practical tips and guidance on creating a more welcoming and accessible experience for all.

This event is open to all Belfast-based tourism businesses and organisations, including hotels, restaurants, attractions, and tour operators.

By embracing inclusivity, businesses can not only attract a wider customer base but also contribute to creating a more welcoming and accessible city for all visitors.

Speakers will include Carrie-Ann Lightley, accessibility travel blogger, Head of Marketing and Communications with AccessAble and on the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100 list, and Anthony Sinclair, founder of Sign Source and has been profoundly Deaf since birth.

Arson Investigation Launched After Scrapyard Fire In Antrim

Police in Antrim are investigating a suspected arson attack that destroyed nine vehicles at a scrapyard in the Ballyutoag Road area early on Sunday, 12th January.

The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service alerted police shortly after 1:10 AM regarding a fire at the scrapyard. Upon arrival at the scene, officers were informed that the fire, which destroyed nine vehicles, is believed to have been deliberately started.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Police Appeal After Vehicle Reported Acting Suspiciously In Co Antrim
Police have launched an appeal after a vehicle was reported acting suspiciously in Co Antrim. The incident occurred at around 4.20pm on Monday, 20 June. A red coloured BMW was seen acting suspiciously around the junction of Hawthorn Way and Avondale Drive. It is believed the driver was heavy set and wearing a blue top.
