Gardai arrest man following Belfast murder

Gardai have arrested a man whom PSNI want to question in relation to the murder of a woman in Belfast last week.

Thomas Graham, 42, from Northern Ireland, was arrested in the Belturbet area of Co Cavan last night by members of the Republic's National Bureau of Criminal Investigation. He was detained at Ballyconnell Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Police in the north want to question him over the death of Geraldine Kane. The 47-year-old mother-of-four was found stabbed to death at a house in Cavendish Square off the Falls Road on July 20.

Police have appealed for anyone with information relating to Mr Graham's movements to contact them.
