Appeal Following Knifepoint Robbery In Newry

Police are investigating after a shop in Newry was robbed at knifepoint on Saturday evening.

The incident occurred around 5.20pm on 18 January when a man entered a store on Stream Street. He threatened a member of staff with a knife and demanded they open the till. After taking a sum of cash, the robber fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6ft tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a black coat, a red coloured hoody with the hood up, dark coloured trousers and black trainers.

Detectives are appealing to anyone with information or any dash-cam, mobile or CCTV footage, or who may have witnessed a male matching this description in the area during this time to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1099 18/01/25.

Police Appeal Following Armed Robbery In L'Derry
Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a hotel in L'Derry on Sunday. An unknown man, carrying a suspected firearm, entered the premises on the Prehen Road and threatened staff before making off with a sum of cash just after 6pm.

Man Assaulted In Ballyclare
A man has been attacked by another male for refusing to give him money in Ballyclare. The pair were involved in an altercation in the Mill Road area on Monday. The victim was hit on the head and suffered swelling to the side of his face. The man who assaulted him is described as tall, with short black hair and glasses.

Petrol bombers besiege Lurgan police station
A crowd throwing bricks, bottles and petrol bombs attacked Lurgan police station at around 8.45pm last night. The disturbance followed in the wake of a banned Black Preceptory parade through the town, which the police were reportedly forced to allow through when a lorry driver refused to move his vehicle from a cordoned off area.
