Body of man found on outskirts of Belfast

The body of a man has been found at a flat in the outskirts of Belfast, it has emerged today.

The discovery of the 47-year-old's body was made at the flat in the Rathcoole estate, Newtownabbey, shortly after 9pm on Thursday.

The police and ambulance service were immediately called to the scene, however it is not yet known how the man died.

A post mortem examination is expected to be carried out today and police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Police Believe Continuity IRA Behind Fermanagh Bomb
Police have expressed their belief that an explosion in the Wattlebridge area of County Fermanagh on Monday was the work of the Continuity IRA. The device detonated while a wider security operation was ongoing in the area follow reports of a device that was later confirmed as a hoax.

Police Treat L'Derry Bonfire As 'Hate Incident'
A bonfire that displayed flags relating to a soldier facing prosecution for Bloody Sunday murders is being treated as a hate incident. Parachute Regiment was placed on the pyre before it was set alight in the Bogside area of L'Derry on Thursday evening, 15 August. Union flags were also set alight as thousands watched on.

Arrest As Police Discover Cocaine Worth Over £3,000 Police have seized over £3,000 of cocaine and arrested two individuals following searches in the Armagh and Portadown areas. One of the individuals was arrested following a car search near Richill where the substance was found to be hidden on an occupant of the car.
