Belfast teenager found dead at boyfriend's grave
A Belfast teenager has been found dead at the graveside of her boyfriend who committed suicide two months ago.
The body of Fiona Barnes, from the Divismore area of Belfast, was discovered in the City Cemetery on Sunday. Police have said they are not treating her death as suspicious.
Fiona's boyfriend, Michael McComb, took his life two months ago, just two years after his own sister, Debbie, 15, was killed by a stolen car on the Springfield Road, Belfast.
The Ardoyne Association and PIPS - a group working to help people contemplating suicide and self-harm – has called on anyone contemplating suicide in the area to contact them
West Belfast councillor Marie Cush described the news as "sad and tragic".
"The community is in a state of shock. I want to extend sympathy to the entire Barnes family circle and also to this young woman’s many friends,” she said.
