Woman Charged Following Fatal Collision In Bushmills
A 66-year-old woman has been charged with causing death by careless driving following a fatal road traffic collision in the Causeway Road area of Bushmills on Wednesday 11 June, which resulted in the death of an American citizen.
The deceased has been identified as Allison Eichner, a woman in her 40's from Connecticut, USA.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed that emergency services responded to a report of the single-vehicle collision shortly before 12:30pm on Wednesday. Ms. Eichner, a pedestrian, was transported to hospital but sadly succumbed to her injuries. Detective Inspector Cherith Adair stated that one person was arrested at the scene on Wednesday and has since been charged.
The accused is scheduled to appear at Coleraine Magistrates' Court today, Friday 13 June. As is standard procedure, all charges will undergo review by the Public Prosecution Service.
Detectives from the Collision Investigation Unit are continuing their enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the collision. They have appealed to anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 683 of 11/06/25.

The incident occurred on Hannahstown Hill shortly after 6:50pm when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle.
