PSNI Operation Seizes Drugs And Cash In L'Derry
Police in L'Derry have seized suspected Class A, B, and C drugs, with an estimated street value of approximately £6,400, following a search conducted in the city earlier today, Monday, 7 July 2025. Officers from the Foyleside and The Moor Neighbourhood Team carried out the operation, during which they also recovered a quantity of cash alongside the suspected drugs, which included cocaine.
Police enquiries into the seizure are ongoing.
Chief Inspector Gahan addressed the public on the importance of community assistance in tackling drug-related crime. "Every day we are working to disrupt crime and take drugs off our streets and we will continue to proactively investigate and carry out searches to identify those involved," he stated.
"Information from the public is crucial in helping us to tackle the scourge of drugs. It helps us focus our efforts on identifying those who make their living by bringing drugs to our streets and into neighbourhoods. Drugs cause misery in our communities, we have seen that far too often."
Authorities are appealing for anyone with concerns or information about suspected drug-related activity to come forward. Reports can be made to police on 101, or submitted online using the non-emergency reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/ .
Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or through their website at www.crimestoppers-uk.org/.
