Man Charged Following Serious Assault In North Belfast
A man has been charged to court following a serious assault in north Belfast that occurred on Tuesday, 8 July. The incident, reported to police at approximately 16:40, saw a young woman suffer serious injuries in the Brucevale Park area. She remains in a critical condition in hospital.
On Wednesday, 9 July, a 21-year-old man was formally charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, common assault, and criminal damage.
He is scheduled to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, 10 July. As is standard procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
Inspector Philip McCullough urged anyone with information to come forward. "We received a report at around 16:40 on Tuesday, 8th July that a young woman had been seriously assaulted in the Brucevale Park area. She remains in hospital in a critical condition," he stated.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the assault, or who possesses CCTV or other footage that could assist with police enquiries, to contact them on 101, quoting reference 1144 of 08/07/25. A report can also be submitted online using the non-emergency reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/ or by contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org/.

A 54-year-old man has been charged with assisting offenders in connection with a serious assault reported in the Breezemount Close area of Conlig on Tuesday, 07 January. A 46-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and is expected to appear before Armagh Magistrates Court later today. The charge relates to a serious assault on a man in Banbridge on September 29. Police discovered the victim in the Newry Street area as they tried to keep rival factions apart.

Man Charged With Murder And Attempted Murder In Downpatrick
A man has been charged with murder and attempted murder following the death of Stephen Brannigan and the serious assault of a priest in Downpatrick on Sunday, 10 August. The body of 56-year-old Mr Brannigan was discovered at a house in the Marian Park area of the town. On the same day, a priest was seriously assaulted at St Patrick's Church.
