NIFRS Seeks Volunteer Cadet Leaders For Bangor Scheme

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) is looking for enthusiastic individuals to become Volunteer Cadet Leaders for its expanding Cadet Scheme in Bangor.

These volunteers will be crucial in supporting the programme, which offers young people aged 14 to 17 an engaging series of activities focused on essential fire and rescue skills, first aid, and teamwork.

The role is open to anyone aged 18 or over who has a passion for youth work and community engagement. While previous experience with the fire service is welcome, it is not essential. Successful applicants will receive full training and ongoing support. Volunteer Cadet Leaders will also represent NIFRS at public events alongside the Cadets.

All selected volunteers will undergo an Enhanced Access NI check and receive essential training, including Child Protection Training, before commencing their role.

Those interested in volunteering as a Cadet Leader in Bangor, or seeking further information, should email prevention@nifrs.org with the subject 'Cadet Leader' or visit the Cadet Leader section on the NIFRS website. The deadline for applications is Monday, 25 August.
