Man Charged After Three Children Struck By Car In West Belfast
A 37-year-old man has been charged after three children were struck by a car in west Belfast on Sunday, 24 August.
The charges relate to a road traffic collision that occurred shortly before 5pm in the Black Ridge View area, where a car reversing on the pavement hit two girls and a boy. The children were taken to hospital for treatment for injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. The man has been charged with several offences, including driving with excess alcohol in his breath and causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving.
He is also charged with failing to stop, failing to report, and failing to remain where an accident occurred causing injury.
The man is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court today, Tuesday, 26 August. Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage to contact them at Woodbourne on 101, quoting reference number 1201 of 24/08/25.

Man Arrested Over George Gilmore Murder
Police have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the murder of loyalist George Gilmore. Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March. He died from his injuries in hospital the following day, 14 March. A 32-year-old man arrested on Sunday, 19 March, has been released.

Seven Charged With Strickland Murder
A fourth man has been charged with the murder of Phillip Strickland in Comber last week, bringing the total to seven. The 36-year-old was found in a car on Quarry Road, off the Ballydrain Road, near Comber on Wednesday last. He had been shot several times and was declared dead in hospital a short time later.

Man arrested over Electoral Office fraud
A 58-year-old man from Co Tyrone has been arrested and charged following a police investigation into irregularities at an Electoral Office in the west of the province. The man was charged with 30 offences, 17 of which relate to theft and 13 of fake accounting. He will appear before a court in Omagh on November 11.

Accused man claimed he 'did not mean to kill wife'
A civilian PSNI employee has appeared before Ballymena Magistrates Court in Co Antrim today accused of murdering his wife. The court heard that when charged yesterday 46-year-old Adrian Baird of Loughloughlan Road in Broughshane said that he "did not mean to kill his wife".
