Detectives from the PSNI's Major Investigation Team have launched a murder inquiry following the death of a man in Mountnorris.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody, assisting detectives with their enquiries.

Police received a report of a concern for safety at a property in the Cusher Green area at approximately 11.30am on Thursday, 4 September 2025.

Officers attended the scene, where a man, aged in his 40s, was found deceased with serious head and facial injuries. Detective Chief Inspector Gary Robinson said the local community can expect to see an "increased police presence" in the area as officers conduct further enquiries. He appealed to anyone with information to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 573 of 04/09/25.
