NI Executive Condemns Racism And Sectarianism
The Northern Ireland Executive has issued a strong statement condemning all forms of racism, sectarianism, and hostility towards individuals of different backgrounds.
The Executive has called for calm across all communities, stating that all acts of violence and intimidation are "abhorrent" and must "stop immediately". The statement affirms a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of hate and intimidation. It says that every person, regardless of their background, is entitled to feel safe and free from threat. The Executive also stands in "solidarity with victims and their families".
The Executive has said that it will continue to work in partnership with the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), civic leaders, community organisations, and statutory bodies. The goal of this collaboration is to ensure that Northern Ireland's streets, neighbourhoods, and communities reflect the values of equality and respect.
The statement concludes with a call to "move forward together, united against hatred and division," and a commitment to building a "peaceful, inclusive, and shared future for all".

The news comes in a joint statement released by Professor Richard Barnett, Vice Chancellor, Ulster University and Professor Patrick Johnston, Vice-Chancellor, Queen’s University Belfast.

In a statement, the UUP councillor said that now the Joint Declaration had been published - and with an IRA statement imminent - the time was right to see what alternatives the DUP could offer.
