Man Arrested In Connection With Craigavon Security Alerts
A public safety operation in Craigavon has ended after a series of security alerts on Monday, 8 September and Tuesday, 9 September, which saw a man arrested and the recovery of a quantity of ammunition.
The operation began on Monday evening in the Pinebank area after a member of the public reported suspicious items. A number of homes were evacuated, and police discovered several items, including ammunition, which will now be sent for forensic examination.
A second alert was declared in the Aldervale area after an item was thrown at a police patrol vehicle at around 2am on Tuesday. Large-scale searches were conducted in both areas, but nothing further was found. All cordons have been lifted, and residents have now returned to their homes.
Police have confirmed that a man arrested during the operation remains in custody and is assisting with enquiries. They have thanked the community for their patience and support during the disruption.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man Arrested Over Paramilitary-Style Shooting In L'Derry
A man has been arrested in connection with a paramilitary-style shooting in Co L'Derry. A 33-year-old man was shot in the legs and abdomen in the Lisfannon Park area on Tuesday, 08 August. Police described the assault as "brutal and horrific". The 43-year-old suspect was detained in L'Derry on Tuesday, 15 August.
