Resurfacing Scheme To Recommence On M1 Motorway
A road resurfacing scheme is set to recommence this week on the M1 Motorway in Craigavon, County Armagh, to facilitate a major £3m improvement project along the eastbound carriageway.
The works, which are scheduled between Friday, September 19, and Sunday, September 28, will finish the scheme located between Junction 11 (Ballynacor) and Junction 10 (Lurgan) which commenced in July.
The Department for Infrastructure has announced a series of lane closures and road closures to ensure the safety of road users and road workers: • M1 Motorway eastbound between Junction 11 (Ballynacor) and Junction 10 (Lurgan) will be closed each night from 8pm to 7am (Friday); from 8pm to 12pm (Saturday); from 8pm to 6am (Sunday to Thursday) with diversionary route signed via A3 Kernan Loop - A3 Northway - A3 Central Way - A3 Lake Road - U1125 Eastway - B2 Silverwood Road - C706 Kiln Road - A76 Lough Road.
• M1 Motorway eastbound between Junction 11 (Ballynacor) and Junction 10 (Lurgan) will be reduced to single lane each day from 7am to 8pm (Saturday); from 12pm to 8pm (Sunday); and from 6am to 8pm (Monday to Friday).
A temporary speed limit of 50 mph speed limit will also be imposed along the stretch and overtaking will be prohibited for the safety of road users.

Two Serious Road Crashes In Co Antrim And Armagh
Two serious road crashes have occurred in Co Antrim and Armagh. The Dungannon Road is currently closed in both directions following a single vehicle collision which happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning, 08 November. The road is expected to be closed for some time and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.

Work on Comber Bypass gets underway
Construction work on the £4.9 million Comber Bypass got underway today when Regional Development Minister Peter Robinson cut the first sod on the scheme. The scheme, which involves the construction of a 1.5km length of single carriageway and a 1km length of dual carriageway road, represents Stage Two of the project.
