Man Hospitalised Following Assault In South Belfast
Police are appealing for information following an assault on a pedestrian walkway suspended over train tracks in the Lisburn Road area of South Belfast yesterday, Monday, 6 October.
The PSNI received a report around 3.40pm that the victim was attacked by two men and a woman near a hospital.
Sergeant Rooney confirmed that the suspects knocked the victim to the ground and then kicked him a couple of times. The victim sustained an injury to his face and head as a result of the assault and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Enquiries are continuing into the incident, the motive, and to identify the assailants.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the attack or has information that could assist their investigation to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1080 of 06/10/25. The PSNI is also keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dash-cam or CCTV footage of the area.

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a report of an assault in the L'Derry city centre in which a man was seriously injured. The assault, which is reported to have occurred at around 11.15pm on Waterloo Street on Tuesday 20th September, was reported to police on Wednesday 28th September.
