Detectives Appeal Following Serious Assault in Crossgar
Detectives have launched an appeal for information following a violent assault in Crossgar during the early hours of Monday, 12 January.
The PSNI received a report of the incident at approximately 2.50am in the Downpatrick Street area. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man who had suffered several injuries. Initial findings suggest the victim was assaulted with weapons.
Police believe the attack occurred between 2.00am and 3.00am, specifically within the vicinity of Gallaun Downpatrick and the Everogue Lane/Downpatrick Street area. Detective Sergeant Lewis commented: "Our enquiries are ongoing and we would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed what happened, or have any information which could assist us, to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 97 of 12/01/26.
"We would also appeal to anyone with footage, including dash-cam, CCTV or ring-doorbell footage, to get in touch."
Information can also be provided through the PSNI's online non-emergency reporting form or anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
