Teenager Charged Following Serious Assault In L'Derry

Detectives investigating a serious assault that took place in L'Derry during the early hours of Sunday, 18 January, have brought charges against a 17-year-old male.

The teenager has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and common assault.

He is scheduled to appear before Londonderry Magistrates Court today, Monday, 19 January.

Man Charged After Teenager Attacked With A Crowbar
Police have charged a man in connection with a violent assault on a teenage boy in Ahoghill on the night of Saturday, 31st January. The incident occurred at approximately 8.50pm in a car park within The Diamond area. It is reported that a masked man attacked the teenager using a blunt object, which investigators believe was a crowbar.

A 23 year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following an assault that left a man in serious condition in L'Derry last month. The suspect is due to appear in the city's Magistrates' Court this morning, Thursday 30 January. It comes after the serious assault in the Cornshell Fields area during the early hours of Monday 02 December.

Lawyer considers client's 'overexposure'
The lawyer of a senior north Belfast loyalist has warned that he may report the Chief Constable, Sir Hugh Orde, and an unnamed Sunday newspaper editor to the Attorney General for over exposure of his client. Ihab Shoukri, from Alliance Road, was today remanded on continuing bail charged two counts of being a member of the UDA/UFF.

Man Charged Following Serious Assault On Traffic Attendant
A 28-year-old man has been charged to court following a violent incident in Newcastle on Saturday afternoon, 3 January, which left a traffic attendant with serious injuries. The assault occurred shortly before 4.00pm on Main Street. A member of the public reported seeing a traffic attendant, a man in his 30s, being attacked.
