Investigation Launches After North Belfast Stabbing

Police are seeking information and video footage following a stabbing incident in north Belfast during the early hours of Wednesday, 21 January.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland were alerted to the attack shortly after 5am. Detective Sergeant Long confirmed the details of the emergency response: "We received a report at around 5.10am on Wednesday, 21st January that a man in the Woodland Avenue area had been stabbed in the abdomen."

Members of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the scene alongside police officers. The victim was subsequently transported to hospital to receive medical attention for his wounds.

The investigation into the assault is currently ongoing. To assist with their enquiries, detectives are asking for anyone who may have been in the vicinity or who possesses relevant digital evidence to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Long added: "Our enquiries are ongoing and we would appeal to anyone with any information, including CCTV, dash-cam or other footage, to contact detectives on the 101 number, quoting reference 136 of 21/01/26.
